The Campus

Milepost 5 sits on a two acre campus located in the Montavilla neighborhood of Portland, Oregon on the site of the former Baptist Manor Retirement Home. The Lofts, is a re-worked 1969 modernist building housing 54 live/work condominiums (completed April, 2008; units now available for purchase). The Studios is a compound of historic brick buildings that includes up to 103 live/work affordable rental studios, gallery space, performance venue, and space for restaurant and commercial use (completed 2009).

The comprehensive grounds and facilities of Milepost 5 are specifically designed to provide practical and multi-functional space within a creative atmosphere to produce and exhibit work. The grounds include a community garden, an outdoor courtyard and sculpture garden. Space for outdoor festivals, gatherings and exhibitions.
